WISH training (Sexual Health)

The WISH training programme is commissioned by Buckinghamshire County Council. All courses are facilitated by the Terrence Higgins Trust, a specialist sexual health service that is part of the new Buckinghamshire Sexual Health and Wellbeing service. The overall aim of the WISH programme is to promote the sexual health and wellbeing of all Buckinghamshire  residents and to equip those working with  individuals of all ages, gender, ethnicity, disability or sexuality  with the knowledge, skills and tools to develop  resilience, respect and to promote consensual healthy and safe sexual relationships.

These are multi-agency courses for all those who are currently working with young people / vulnerable adults, to enable them to work effectively with people around sexual health and relationships in either one to one or group situations.

For information on current courses please click here.

Free Adult Exploitation Training

Free training is being provided by an Exploitation Service for Victims called Willow Project* and is designed for front line workers and those who manage them to myth bust and help you understand what this area of crime is about and understand the factors that make people vulnerable and how you could identify risks etc.

The training is part of a county wide commitment to increase the awareness and understanding around Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking, which sits within the work of Adult Exploitation in Buckinghamshire.

The 3 hour session will help you understand the risks, be aware of signs you may spot in your work capacity, what you can do about it and give you information about the referral process for support.

If your work puts you in possible contact with situations where you may see signs of exploitation then this training will be extremely valuable to you. You do not need to have any prior knowledge of Modern Slavery or other Adult Exploitation.

*The organisation providing the training works with the police and other agencies in a voluntary capacity to support any victims that are identified, for example, from police raids and other enforcement work.
